Recent banking trends reveal an increased usage of ATM and debit cards for everyday purchases, and we want you to know about a new regulatory rule that goes into effect August 15, 2010.
Currently when you use your ATM or debit card, you have enjoyed the benefit of being allowed to overdraw your account to avoid embarrassment, take care of an emergency, or withdraw extra funds when you need them most. Under the new rule, FPDCU has chosen to provide you with the option to overdraw your account if funds are not available when it comes to an ATM or debit card transaction. You now have the availability to opt-in and continue to receive overdraft privileges with Courtesy Pay.
Your signed opt-in forms will need to be received by August 15, 2010 in order to provide you with Courtesy Pay. Otherwise, FPDCU will not authorize ATM or debit card transactions where the available balance in the account at the time of authorization is insufficient. You also have the right to revoke the opt-in at any time.
If you would like to opt-in, please stop by the credit union and complete the opt-in form. We also mailed you an opt-in form in May’s statement. If you would like to opt-out of this feature, no action is necessary.
